Using dice symbols

They are handy in tabletop notes, probability examples, game design documents and chat. Because they are text, they inherit the font, size and color of the surrounding paragraph — no image files needed.
The characters do not generate random numbers; they are pictures of dice. To roll, use a random number generator. To type them, copy from this page or type 2680–2685 in Word and press Alt+X.
- Click a round tile to copy the symbol; the “Copied!” badge confirms it is on your clipboard.
- Open a symbol’s page for its Unicode name, HTML entity, CSS and JavaScript escapes, UTF-8 bytes and keyboard routes.
- Use the dot separator builder when you need several items joined on one line.
- Use the bullet list maker when you want a whole list of dot-prefixed lines.

No. They are static characters that look like dice. They do not roll or generate numbers.

Copy one from this page, or in Microsoft Word type its code point (2680 for ⚀) and press Alt+X. On a Mac, use the Character Viewer and search for “die face”.
