Privacy Policy

Overview

dotsymbol.com (“the site”) is a free reference tool for copying dot symbols and related characters. The site is static: the pages are generated files, and the copy, search and tool features run entirely in your browser. We do not require an account and we do not ask for personal information.

Data we collect

We do not collect personal data through the site. There are no contact forms, no newsletter sign-ups and no user-generated content.

Clipboard

When you click a copy button, the site writes the selected character or text to your device’s clipboard using the browser Clipboard API, or a local fallback in older browsers. Nothing is transmitted to a server, and the site does not read the clipboard.

Cookies and analytics

The site does not set cookies and does not use analytics, tracking pixels or advertising scripts. It does not profile visitors or share data with ad networks.

Browser storage

The site stores one preference in your browser’s local storage: your light or dark theme choice. This value stays on your device, is not a cookie and is not sent to us. Clearing site data removes it.

Hosting and server logs

Like most websites, the hosting provider may record standard technical details such as the requested URL, IP address, browser type and timestamp in server logs for security, abuse prevention and operational purposes. We do not use those logs to identify individual visitors.

Third-party links

Pages may link to external resources, such as the Unicode Character Database or platform documentation. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Children

The site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If the site adds a feature that changes how data is handled — for example analytics or advertising — this page will be updated before that feature is enabled. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
